Here’s a business type I’ve yet to see truly perfected

There are plenty of shows out there that exist purely to play videos from the internet.

Essentially, we have the America’s Funniest Videos format jam-packed with stuff found on the internet.

The model is to curate the ocean of content the internet has to offer to the broader public.

So… you don’t have scroll. You just sit back and watch funny cat videos.

What’s the value of something like this?

Well, it’s easier to be skeptical of this model in general, as it kinda exists to benefit from content generated by others.

But could this sort of thing be meaningful?

After all, aren’t we looking for ways to minimize the number of screens we look at?

What if there were better business models to deliver us what we want from the internet, so that we could just wade in it, instead of swim?

Sure, we have site-specific help with this sort of thing here on Medium, with the daily and weekly emails of content we might find interesting.

The difficulty, then, of broader curation becomes the problem of bringing it all together but appealing to your niches.
