Hey, real quick — if you can’t read this story because you’re not a Medium member, sign up here. (By the way, it helps support my writing — so thank you 😊 ) _________

When we look at skillsets, relevance is a key factor in judging their worthwhileness.

If you’re an expert on floppy disks, your ship may have sailed some time again.

But what skill would allow us to rethink those old skills and make them relevant again?

When practicing creativity as a meta-discipline, we can consider the specific ways we look at the world and the problems that it poses.

What about a floppy disk applies to today’s technological landscape?

What principles go into its engineering that help make it what it is?

Where could it be more efficient?

In what ways is it more efficient than alternatives?

Creativity is the uber-skill, and solutions that today seem unorthodox may become the standard tomorrow.
